First National Bank
"Free" access to slow costs a fortune!

Business & Finance

Good day,

The other day I had to travel from Johannesburg to Cape Town so decided I would access the slow lounge as this had been one of the things that were represented as being free andpart and parcel of the young professionals platinum cheque account. I swiped my card without even being aware of the threshold that makes this service free! Furthermore I was not required to put in a pin code so wasnt even aware that R250 was coming off my account! If the lady at the front desk had asked me this or told me it was going to cost R250 I would have left! I essentially paid R500 for two beers and a sandwich! This is unacceptable and all plaintum card holder should properly be informed if they do not meet the threshold and should be required to enter a pin so at least they are aware of the costs. This is a massive financial hit for young professionals and should be addressed. I would like a refund or reduced fee at least as R500 is absolutely ridculous for the amount of time (less than 30 mins) in both lounges.

Regards

Robin
