My son was involved in an accident with his mother's car on 29 Mar 2014. The insurance and the Ombudsman rejected the claim. After 4, 5 years this was my first claim. Got raw deal even after sharing facts:-
1) My son had his own car and when it was years ago, he bought a motorbike for transport. He never drove his mother's car. This was an emergency. My wife was sick at the time, so she asked our son to take our daughter to church. My wife saw her doctor on the day before and got a sick certificate. Unfortunately, my wife's condition deteriorated about 1hr before she was due to take my daughter. I was not at home and she thus asked my 27 year old son to take our daughter to church
2) I gave the Insurer and the Ombudsman detail on my son's place of work, my wife's place of work and the churches we attend, but they did not bother to verify
3) The insurance insisted that my son register the claim not me, their customer! This was his 1st time dealing with something like this, so when they asked him if he drives the car regularly, he thought they were testing familiarity with the car and, thinking he was helping
4) It was a hit and run, thus no aggravated risk from my son.
