WINDSCREEN DAMAGE CLAIM DECLINED DESPITE PROOF

Business & Finance

On 14 June 2013 I called Budget Insurance's Claims department regarding a windscreen damage I needed to have repaired on the car I intended to trade in for another car. I spoke to Sindiso Ntshangase of Telesure acting on behalf of Budget. He requested that I send him proof that I took the car for inspection at any Glasfit in the country (the inspection sheet), which I did. He also gave me his direct contact line where I could contact him directly as the consultant dealing with the claim. I sent the e-mail with the inspection sheet attached soon after speaking to him. I also attempted to follow up with a telephone call on "the direct line" that he gave me. Sadly Sindiso never answered my calls nor bothered to acknowledge receipt of my e-mail. The inspection sheet clearly states "No glass chips identified". Today I received a letter dated 17 June 2013 informing that the claim will not be paid "because the insured vehicle was never inspected and that the importance of this inspection was emphasised to me when the cover was taken. It boggles my mind how they have arrived at the decision that "the motor vehicle was never inspected". The crooked n low tactics of Budget Insurance!
