I went to Capitec bank to get a bank stamp from them to confirm bank details for my father on a pension form. I had his ID copy with me as well as his bank mandate. The lady who assisted me - when I told her what I need, laid back on her chair, and said NO sorry, he must come himself - I begged her to please look at what I have with me - the manager heard and came to her chair - I again explained to him what I need - also NO it is against the law - I asked them to phone my father for consent - but still NO they need his fingerprint??? For a bank stamp??? I complained to the customer e-mail address - got a response two days later - Sorry for the delay and to supply them with detail to which branch I went - This response I received on 25 July 2013 - still no feedback? I do understand that a bank can not stamp anything - but why after I have all his details, and we can phone for confirmation is this still a problem??? Was it to late in the afternoon? Was the bank to quiet and they got all lazy? NOTE - I have been a customer of Capitec a few years, and never ever I have been treated by one of the consultants with such ignorance of any problem!
