BEWARE OF LOAN TRACER

On 25th June I applied for a personal loan from Loan Tracers and received a message to say that I qualified for their 2 in 1 service and that my account would be debited with R399.00 on my next pay day. on 25th June I sent them an e-mail asking if I'd be refunded should the loan not be approved. I did not receive a reply and was under the impression that, because I had not submitted any documentation such as utility bill, id etc. they would have realised that I wasn't going to take out the loan. Needless to say, on 25th July my account was debited. I sent them an e-mail requesting they refund the payment and they have refused on the grounds that I did not respond within the 7 days cooling off period. I have now asked the bank to return the debit order. My fault for giving banking details in advance. I did however manage to speak to someone there who said I should write a letter of cancellation & they'd consider a refund. I'm not holding my breath.
