I have recently been broken into with the robbers taking my bank card, my ID, my drivers and much more. I stood in the line to get an affidavit as was required from FNB Gardens and when I went back in between my working hours I was rejected a card. If a customer has no form of Identity (AS THIS IS SOUTH AFRICA) and incidents like this happen on a daily basis, how can we get a bank card without anything, yet an affidavit, signed from the police and certified that it is your identity- wont help! What are we meant to do? Our bank cards are our livelihood, how do we survive without money?? This system is atrocious and I actually started crying with the attitude I was reciprocated with having many others in the bank witness what was happening. How do I survive without the care from my bank? It makes me feel uncomfortable and not safe when such incidents happen. I cant go to Home Affairs as the line is ridiculously long and my job times collide. No client who keeps their money with a bank they should 'trust' would ever want to be in this situation without help. Attitude and service and maybe a change in the system should be considered. Thank you.
