Feel bullied into taking extra cove

Yesterday I got a call from Roleen advicing me of an upgrade to my policy for R142.50 above what I am paying currently. When i told her I cannot afford another R142.50 I am told that it's important to have cover and what if something happens. It irritates me how they play on people's feelings by trying to make you feel guilty. I felt that I was bullied into taking the extra cover, before you can even say anything, you are asked 'can I arrange this', without even giving you time to actaully think about this. I even told her yes, send me the docs, but I will return it as I can't afford the extra cover. They do not care if you can't afford it, so what happens if I default on my payments? Will Platinum Life take responsibility as I have adviced them that I can't afford it, however, it has been forced upon me over the phone?

I really wish these call centres will stop harrasing people over the phone and demanding you make a decision right there and then. I am waiting for my policy docs, as a result of what happened yesterday, I am going to cancell my whole policy with Platinum Life, I don't need this kind of pressure.
