Bad Customer Service

Business & Finance

Before travelling one always think that having Travel Insurance overseas you'll be covered should something goes wrong. You should not have to worry about medical expenses, right? Wrong. It doesn't seems like it is that simple after all.

Myself and a friend traveled to Alpes, south of France early December 2012. On the first morning after arrival, I had a blackout in the room and hit my head/neck against the corner of the bed. With the fall, I hurt my neck and end up with an ambulance transporting me to nearest doctor, from the doctor to the nearest hospital, scans and tests were done and back from the hospital to the resort with a taxi. I have submitted the ambulance, doctors and hospital reports. No payment slips were received. We had to pay the ambulances and taxi fees cash. The doctor were paid with my friends credit card.

However, now with the claim submitted to the Insurance company, payment slips are required! Not sure which ambulance services and taxi's gives you a slip for payment. The ambulance report with the amount paid is apparently not sufficient.

I still owe my friend nearly R10 000 and is still waiting for feedback from both Oojah and TIC!
