I had a break in at my house on the 2/5/2013 and submitted a claim for the items, the damage to the property (burglar bars and carpets) and money paid for the crime scene clean-up. The items were paid out on the 15/5/2013 (excellent service) but after this that is where everything stopped. After numerous phone calls I manage to get someone who helped to get a contractor to come to the house for the burglar bars but I am still waiting for the carpets, the crime scene clean-up refund (R4500) and the money paid when your wife die (R9200). This is now 6 weeks and no feedback from AA Insurance or Auto and General on the outstanding claim. Every time I call the message is the same "We will ask Hendrik to call you". When you go to the A&G website the status of the claim is blank. I have used the complaints section on the web site but so far no reply.
I have sent E-Mails without even getting an acknowledgement. Try phoning Hendrik directly is a waste of time because the telephone rings and then go to voicemail.
Nobody seems to know what is happening with this claim.
