Repair period and car hire expired

The panel beaters said they will get the car done in 10 days, Insurance provided a hired car for 10 days. The 10 days have since expired and the panel beaters are waiting for part that must be paid for by the insurance. The hired car period has also expired and i had to extend the period and payed R1000 because insurance did not want to pay, saying my policy only allows 10 days. To my surprise, when I sign up i was never given option on the car hire days. all they said was i am covered for car hire. only found out today when i call MiWay car hire department that i have 10 days on my policy and that there are other options of which i did not subscribe to.
