STANDARD BANK - YAY? DEFINITELY NOT!!!

Here I am trying to collect a money gram sent from Nebraska. This woman behind the counter requires my id book as well as proof of residence. I furnished her with a copy, a COPY, of my lease agreement. Apparently that is unacceptable, only the original will be accepted and, I quote, "the tenant is supposed to always have the original." I am a candidate attorney at a firm in Mossel Bay, I work with contracts every day of my life and there are NO authority supporting this statement., the tenant NEVER have the original!!!

If that is not enough she has a problem with the fact that my lease agreement has no page numbers and no cover page!

Eventually I left and got a second opinion, Standard Bank in Knysna, 100km from Mossel Bay, stated that a copy is more than acceptable.

How can one branch's "rules", as this woman called them, differ from another branch? And despite the fact that the "rules" differ, this is the most absurd thing I have heard in a long time!! Not only me, the other four branches who confirmed that a copy is sufficient!!!
