Renting place in Fairlands - Jhb. Got a bill for admin fees etc from agent to secure unit. Paid deposit, fees. Was then told to drive all the way to Alberton to sign lease agreement! I had no choice but to drive there as estate agent refused to come to Jhb or meet halfway. Lease was signed by owner and copy emailed to me. Suddenly scanned copy of lease was ok! Owner of unit only put initials & surname on lease. No name/s, id number/ address. Current tenant said I could move in on 30 Dec but after I stated on lease that carpets must be washed etc tenant changed moving date to 1 Jan 2014. Tenant told me to deal with agent. Emailed estate agent as move was planned for 30 Dec as per tenant. Agent replied to email and copied tenant with the email that I sent. Unprofessional! Tenant agreed to be out by noon 31 Dec. Asked if I could measure windows and was told that I have to contact tenant. Contacted tenant via whatsapp as she does not answer my calls. Was told that she is taking all the curtain rails. I called Colin who is dealing with this while Thesnie is away. He told me he is not using his private airtime to sort it out!! Tried calling the office but phone just rings!!!
