Complete Incompetence in the Standard Bank

I have been a customer of Standard bank for 25 years. In this time my husband and I have bought a home and car through their financing and paid them promptly every month. We have an exemplary credit record and various accounts with them. We would like to renovate our kitchen and applied for a small extension to our loan in order to assist this process. We have spoken to no less that 8 people and no 2 have given the same advice. We are a month down the line and they claim not to have received the documents. The level of incompetence is mind blowing. Our prestige banker is of no use as he keeps referring me back to Home Loans who are past the point of useless.
I am now ready to move banks. Is there any institution that is better than Standard Bank?
