Lagging on Account closure and I have to pay??!!

Why should I pay bank fees and interest on bad and slow service to close my account if I haven't used it since I requested to close my account??!!! I am deeply disappointed in the bank and for reasons I don't want to mention now, but I requested to close my account on 04/06/2013 and paid up everything I owed, then my private banker responded on the 05/06/2013 as to why which is great but... then only a week later 12/06/2013 another lady contacted me requesting documents to FICA my account... Then again a week later 19/06/2013 she responded only with a settlement figure of R432.38... which I didn't agree with and requested her to please send me reasons as I agreed with Interest but why the extra pro-rata monthly fee if I requested to close my account 3 weeks ago and it was their fault they didn't repond sooner?? So then only did I receive feedback on my query TODAY 27 June 2013... R524, 54 and she said sorry that's the amount and interest and charges is just going to accrue... which is really not my fault if they don't respond timely and its a R100 more... WHY SHOULD I PAY if the bank didn't respond!!??? I am really really disappointed and would like some answers please??!!
