Adding Money to my loan

I am currently holding on for MFC for 36 minutes now and still no answer. Yesterday I recieved a statement from them stating that my account number have changed and they have charged me an additional R5856.29 for "Initial finance Charges". What the is that??? How can they just add extra money to my loan and extend the term???
