My wife's car (Honda Civic) had a back window smashed when someone tried to break in to the car. She then attempted to register the claim with Discovery Insure but has received nothing but poor service from that point on. The following errors were made:

1. The claim was incorrectly lodged as a vehicle damage claim - it should have been lodged as a glass claim. This was despite my wife clearly describing the nature of the damage.
2. A rental car was arranged for my wife, but she was never told where her car was taken for repairs.
3. Despite my wife asking for feedback on when the car was going to be fixed, the claims department was never able to supply her with the information.
4. After the glass company contacted us to advise they had the correct glass, my wife phoned the claims department to pick up her car. The claims department couldn't tell her where her car was.
5. Eventually the car had to be traced using the vehicle's Tracker system.
6. There was no communication forthcoming from Discovery regarding this claim - all communication had to be initiated by my wife.
7. When my wife asked for her excess to be waived, the agent committed to responding - still no response.
