I have bought a house on auction from Standard bank (auctioned by Dynamic Auctioneers under Colvan Trust) on the 10 March 2011. Till today the house has not been transferred to my name. The lawyers (Hassbroek & Boozart) claim that documents are at Deeds Office then they can do nothing. Standard Bank which is to benefit from the transaction as the owners of the property has exonerated themselves from the matter on several occasion when I sought their intervention. telling me I must speak with the lawyers because they have nothing to do with this. what is sad is in the process I am being held ransom by the OTP which binds me to pay Occupational rent regardless. I have stopped paying the Occupational rent because I feel this is exploitation, I never wanted to rent but to buy the property. Its been 2 year going for 3 years now. no solution beside being threatened that if I don't pay the house will be resold. I have no problem to pay but I just feel it is too much to expect of me to pay occupational rent for 3 years just because the contract binds me so.
