Failure to cancel policy

I am so frustrated. I have taken a retirement policy with metropolitan as of the end of April I have been trying to cancel this policy. Even though I have filled out the cancellation form, forwarded a certified copy of my I'd and proof in the form of bank statements to show that metropolitan has taken money out of my account for the month of may and June. I wanted my policy cancelled. And my money refunded. Now I am told that they want my proof of address and tax number. Then I told there's nothing that they can do I must go to the claims office. I am so frustrated please how can there service be so bad how can they make life so difficult. Why must I go to the claims office to get my money back and for a small amount of r400.
