Revolving Credit Account

I have closed my revolving ceredit account in September 2012 at the Standard Bank branch in Church Squre in Pretoia. The lady that assisted me provided me with a letter stating thamy account has been closed. I have now received a bank statement for the loan, dated 27 December 2012 with an owing amount of interest accummulating even though I have already closed the account. On the day that I closed the account I made two transfers from my cheque account. First I transfered the loan amoumt and secondly the interest as the lady said that I can not close the account with intersest aout standing. I would like to know why the account is still opened and accummulating interest.
