REFUSAL TO FIX THE CAR THAT WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACC

I bought my vehicle through McCarthy in September 2012. The vehicle was insured through Santam. On the 1st April 2013 I was involved in a car accident while traveling back to Pretoria on the N4. I immediately phoned Santam and explained what happened.

A tow truck was arranged and my car was towed. A consultant from Santam phoned me after 5 days to inquire where my car should be taken to, since i did not know any garage he informed me that they will take the car to Silverton for repairs and i agreed since it is nearer to where I stay. A courtesy car was arranged and I collected it at Europcar in Sunnyside. All these was arranged on my behalf by Santam.

I always got calls from different consultants (Santam) to inform me of the status of the repairing of the car. I was even asked where the delivery of the vehicle should be made after it has been repaired. I was informed that I had to pay access before the car can be delivered to me.

While I was waiting for the car t to be repaired, I was told that my claim could not be processed the reason being that I am in arrears. That surprised me because when I phoned after the accident had occurred that was not explained to me.
