Standard Bank
CHEQUE ACCOUNT NEVER CLOSED

In the beginning of the year I went through the very long process of closing my standard bank accounts to move to a new service provider. After spending over 1.5hrs at the Carlswald branch in Midrand with a very helpfull lady signing paperwork confirming the closure etc. I had assumed that the matter was closed considering the paperwork was signed in a branch with a representative. CLEARLY NOT!
Saturday 1 June I get a SMS from STD bank saying that money was paid into the account I closed MONTHS AGO! Not only that but the account is in arrears for a further R271.58 - clearly somebody up and didn't close the account and STD bank has continued charging me bank fees on a CLOSED ACCOUNT.

This morning I spoke to the call centre to resolve, they couldnt help, they transferred me to the wrong branch and then BOULDERS branch said that they would get CARLSWALD to phone me to resolve. Surprise Surprise so far nothing has happened!

What the Standard Bank?? Is this how you guys do business? THIS IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF HIDEOUS SERVICE THAT MADE ME MOVE MY ACCOUNT IN THE FIRST PLACE!
