I'm going to cut to the last week of this saga. On Sunday (26/05/2013) I went to the Cresta branch, to solve my issues with switching banks once and for all!! I was told that a copy of my lease agreement was not enough to activate my account (after starting the process of switching from another bank about 2 weeks before). I was told I needed a letter from my employer to say I live at the address given.
So I only got a gap later that week to return to the bank, when I was notified by one of the consultants, that indeed my account had actually been activated awhile ago, I was informed incorrectly (by email and the branch consultant) that my proof of address was outstanding. I still had to phone their call centre to find out how to activate my card and internet banking. I'm furthermore waiting for other areas of my account to be sorted out, but they keep asking (from different divisions) for exactly the same documents submitted time and time before. On Friday (31/05/2013), I was informed via text message that as I had taken so long to submit my switching forms I would not be able to get the mini iPad I was promised, which considering it was their stuff-up I'm highly peeved about!
