NON DELIVERY OF SECURITY SERVICES

On 24 May at 20h45 my husband received a call from his company's C-track division to inform him that one of their trucks had sent out an alarm signal. When my husband arrived at his work site, the Bidvest security guard had taken a while to open for my husband to enter the premises, he had obviously been sleeping. When my husband inspected the truck that had sent the alert alarm he discovered that the truck's battery had been. Upon questioning the Bidvest security guard, my husband had been informed that the guard's phone does not work, neither does his panic button, my husband pressed the panic button at least 25 times (I kid you not) and no response from 21h00 to 21h50 was received by Bidvest - the security guard had to send a call me to his control room after my husband arrived to investigate. It is now a week later and the panic button still does not work and the guard had been told by his supervisor that under no circumstances is he allowed to "test" the panic button. The guard has no baton, no phone, no weapon to defend himself. What a disgusting company to treat their customers and staff this way. I am reporting this to the Dept of Labour as well.
