I have 2 business accounts and a Private account with Standard Bank. Late last year Standard Bank incorrectly credited someone else's credit card with my payment. The end result was that they decided to send me various legal letters and correspondence referring to my default. I sent them about 5 emails and letters with all the proof of payments which they acknowledged. However, they still decided that it would be best to cut of my business credit and garage card. Needless to say this has caused undue frustration in my business. After approximately 6 months of going to and fro, they acknowledged the error at Sandton City branch and sent me a letter of apology. However, coupled with the incompetence they now want me to re-apply for my business credit cards. Surely, if you are at the fore-front of banking, you would have sophisticated IT systems that would enable you to re-activate cards, especially taking into account that this is no fault of mine. This is totally unacceptable.
