I woke up this morning to find my geyser leaking and called the DrainSurgeon. They called and advised that my geyser is old and out of warranty so they would need to install a new one and a new valve as well as remove a part of my wardrobe as the geyser is in the wardrobe. I told them I would call and lodge a claim with my homewoners insurance.

I have been on the phone for over an hour - using my airtime - speaking to people from the insurance call centre and hollard and I am livid as a customer who has been loyal with Standard Bank for so long.

Hollard and the call centre agents are telling me that I don't have a policy that covers structural damage - yet - I am paying R282.34 per month (via Liberty) to SBSA Home Loans for this!!! I took up the policy when my bond was granted because it is compulsory. And now I am advised I don't have cover? What are these consultants smoking? The account number is 365600644.

I am appalled and as I type this report - my geyser is still leaking, causing further damage to my wardrobe.

Can someone please urgently intervene and clarify the matter so I can get the service and benefit I am paying for every month???
