I have been banking with FNB for five years now. Started with a student account - currently still a student, busy with my final year. In my 2nd year FNB automatically upgraded my account to pay more banking charges. In my 3rd year i went in; made a student loan, to make a loan you have to hand in proof of being a student. I did this. Now in my final year - I am extremely busy with my studies and practical, giving extra classes and i also have a two year old son that needs my attention. A few months ago i received a Text Message - Ergonomic account closed, pay R600. My account has been closed!! I phoned my branch to find out what this is about - they said that they can't give me any information over the phone. I told the lady that i just need to find out if they in fact send the message to me. I thought this would be something that you phone a person for or even better BEFORE closing; notifying - give the person a chance to pay money into the account (i would have asked my husband or parents). I am just a Student with NO income. Thank you FNB for NOT supporting me. I honestly feel that you are making my life much more stressful.
