I received a settlement letter on 26 April. It stated three settlement amounts one for the 26th of April, one for the 1st of May and one for the 3rd of May. This obviously means that the amount quoted for 26 April stays the same till 30 April and then increases on 1 May staying the same till it increases on 3rd. Nothing was otherwise stated to the contrary. I settled my account in terms of the settlement amount of 26 April on 29 April - before the increase. I immediately emailed my proof of payment to the relevant number and requested that my account be closed. I settled a few accounts with different credit providers who closed my accounts as requested. Not FNB! I received a call after 17h on Tuesday and as I was driving I requested a call back after 10 minutes. The call centre agent said he will reply to my email. When I got home I saw they insisted I pay in more money as per the settlement letter as the settlement amount changes daily - no mention of this in their letter! And I also have to fill out a form to close my account and if I dont do it immediately more charges will be levied against my account! I replied saying I find this unacceptable. Have not had a response to date!
