SA Warranties
Policy not covering sensor failure

Business & Finance

Ok my car has been sent in for the air mass meter that has failed, the workshop has advised me that according to the policy (as explained by Thato) this is not cover as it falls under the fuel system and is not listed under the fuel system according to the wording. I disagree as the air mass meter falls part of the engine management system which then controls the fuel and air mixture. This in turn is determined by the readings or signals received from the various sensors.
If we look under point 5 in the policy as below the management system covers the engine and transmission control unit and sensors and solenoids, the air mass meter is a sensor that sends its information directly to the ECU which then controls the fuels mixture, the air mass meter does not control the fuel pump and injectors those are controlled by the ECU like described by your claims administrator. Please can we get this cleared up and solved ASAP

5 Management System: Engine and Transmission
management control unit, sensors and solenoids.
