Not getting what you expect

I made a booking with Flexi Club last year to take my wife & son on a much deserve holiday since we were on holiday 2 years last. I am currently a member of Flexi Club for more than 10 years now & have never complained before, but feel that I need to warn others out there of my experience. I was charged 2639 points & R2400 holiday savings for a midweek at Avalon Springs Mountain Chalets during March 2013.
On arriving there, there was repairs being done to the roof just below our chalet & in the chalet were various problesm, like the fan in the lounge which seemed like it was going to fall when switched on etc. There were also maintenance being done to 1 of the swimming pools. I sent Flexi Club a complaint while at the resort & afterward as well. They sent me an apology & offered to re-imburse me with 500 points. I contacted Flexi Club wanting to know how 500 points substitutes for what I paid? I paid for a destressing, relaxing week away from home & I got maintenance work & a disfunctional chalet. The response I got was that there is nothing that they can do about this.

Is this how a customer of more than 10 years with a company gets treated? I am definitely cancelling my membership
