Slow Lounge
No Invoice for Fees Billed & Poor Vegetarian Optio

Traveling & Tourism

On the 22 Mar my son (12) and I entered the Slow Lounge at 15.30 to wait for our flight and enjoy the Lounge as we often do. On signing in I was informed by the receptionist that it was peak time and that FNB would bill me R250 for my guest as it was peak time (there were tops 20 people in the lounge). I wasn't happy about this but accepted it as we were there and wanted to use the facilities, I then asked for an invoice for the R250, they said they couldn't issue it and I must speak to FNB, however as far as I am concerned legally in SA if you offer a service that the consumer has to pay for you have to issue an invoice, especially if the consumer requests it. Over and above this how can any respectable business charge R250 for a child to use the lounge? On entering the lounge I discovered that the vegetarian food on offer was almost non existent, a cheeseboard, a salad with beef in it and a spicy cold slaw, all the hot food had chicken in it. If you are going to charge then the consumer is going to expect a certain level of service and this was not on offer. Disappointed for the first time on the level of service.
