Forced to sit for 90 mins in the stench of sewage

After boarding the plane we were instructed that one of the toilets on board the plane was broken and needed to be fixed. The plane smelled disgusting - to the extent that it gave my sister a head ache. Only after one and a half hours were we removed from the plane to board another. The plane trip itself (from JHB to DBN) is only 45 minutes long (approximately). After more than an hour after we were meant to have landed in Durban, we eventually took off, leaving Johannesburg.

Why full an entire plane full of people when you are well aware that the toilet needs to be fixed?
