Mango voucher system flawed

On Tuesday 29 January 2013 I converted my Nedbank Greenbacks for a voucher of R1, 900 to redeem for 2 flights from Mango Airlines and a day later received my voucher.

I intended to use the voucher for 2 tickets from CPT to JHB, which cost exactly R1, 900, however since we are returning on different days, I had to purchase the two tickets in two seperate transactions.

I first paid with my Greenbacks voucher for my husbands flight from Cape Town to Lanseria - R799, wanting to use the excess of my Greenbacks voucher of R1101 for my flight costing R1099 back to Lanseria. When the first flight was paid for, Mango exchanged the remaining balance of my Greenbacks voucher for a mango voucher of the same amount, R1, 011.

Then when I booked and wanted to pay my flight of R1099 with the Mango voucher, Mango only took R830.70 off my voucher and said that I must pay the airport taxes and vat of 268.30 separately as the voucher is only for the airfare.

This is not fair since I bought greenbacks vouchers and not Mango vouchers. I contacted mango and they just passed the buck to Greenbacks (Nedbank).

This is a warning not to fly with Mango if you are using Nedbank Greenbacks.
