Saa
Utter disappointment in SAA

Traveling & Tourism

On the 4th of January 2013, we were 3 friends traveling from Sao Paulo to South Africa as requested by SAA, volunteered to stand over as the flight was overbooked. We received MCO Vouchers from SAA, valid for 1 year only. Further conversations developed to whether we need to book, or actually fly before the expiry date. Informed that we should only book flights, we confirmed this information twice at the SAA offices, OR Thambo both on the 26th Of October and 10th of December 2013. I then followed the guidance given by SAA to book a flight for end January 2014. My two friends booked flights for the end of February. 20th of January 2014 I received a call from SAA to confirm my booking. My visit on 22 January 2014, to SAA offices revealed a complete different story. I was rudely told that this voucher has expired, regardless of its activation made and confirmed by SAA. My friends, who the previous day followed the same procedure, received their tickets and are on their way. Numerous phone calls and emails to reservations and customer service departments have left me explaining the situation over and again without anyone being willing or capable to help resolve this issue.
