"Perfect Couple's Avenue at Umlanga Beach"

On 30 October I enquired regarding regarding availability at "Romantic Getaways", as advertised on the Gumtree Website.

I received a reply from Dave, but could not afford the rates. Dave then called me, and offered me a special rate, as it was a mid-week booking.

I was pressurized into paying the full amount as it was 'short notice'. I struggled to make payment via EFT, as my bank told me that the Account Name did not match the Account Number. I was then given alternate Banking Details, which I was assured were in daily use. I paid the full amount of R1600, 00 for 4 nights single occupancy.

At this time, I was in constant contact with Dave, who was reassuring me all they way. The next day I was advised that I would need to pay the "refundable Deposit" of R1000, 00 upfront as well. Which I duly did.

On the evening before I was to check in, I was sent an email informing me that the "current" occupants of the place had extended their booking until the Wednesday, and the best they could do was offer me another Unit at an additional R1000, 00. I said no, as my booking had been confirmed so it wasn't my problem.

Long Story short - too many excuses and no refund of R2600, 00!
