Putco
Dangerous Driving

Traveling & Tourism

I was on my way to work this morning, at 6:20am driving south on William Nichol Drive Fourways, just before the Leslie street intersection. In the fast lane (of three lanes) a Putco bus was parked impeding traffic with its hazard lights on. This was having a detrimental effect as this is one of the most congested roads in Gauteng even at such an early hour.
As I passed, it became apparent that the bus had not broken down, but that the driver had merely stopped in the fast lane, and was trying to attract the attention of either potential passengers or an acquaintance on the side of the road. I am more inclined to believe that this was an acquaintance as I am sure that you do not expect your passengers to cross three lanes of traffic on a highway to catch a bus. After about five minutes the driver restarted the bus, and drove on and onto the highway in the direction of Randburg.
