Misinformation, damaged goods AND a rip-off

I decided to fly on Kulula for the first time as a musician. Kulula claims to have a "Kulula loves musicians" campaign... not so much. Kulula is the ONLY airline that I have been charged extra to fly with a guitar. However, I grit my teeth and decided to pay the R350 for my guitar and case that weighs only 7 kg's in total (an entire second bag only costs R300). Upon collecting my guitar on the conveyor belt at Cape Town International I noticed that the guitar case had been severely damaged, so much so that it was unable to clip closed. I went to the Kulula help desk and was only then informed that I had signed a tag allowing Kulula to not be held responsible for damage to anything. The Kulula employee at OR Thambo International neglected to tell me this. Being the only airline that makes musicians pay you would expect a bit more care with goods marked as fragile. Marketing themselves as a low-cost airline is a farce, Kulula should stipulate their ridiculous hidden costs, or treat fragile items as fragile.
