I recently booked a flight from OR Thambo to Cape Town internantional with my family. On arrival at Cape Town Internantional, one of our bags had been damaged and the contents.
Nothing could be done at the Kulula counter and therefore a e-mail backwards and forwards scenario started. i had to firstly get a case number from SAPS which I did and then a whole bunch of documentation followed to submit my claim.
The total of the damage / claim was R5800.00 of which the Tulle bag was R4000.00. I have now received a mail back to inform me that R830.00 will be paid for this damage and, which I find to be ridiculous. I have been informed that the remainder I must claim from my own insurance and that documentation will be provided to support my personal claim.
This is unacceptable as there was no negligence on my behalf. I also find it very unfair that I bear the brunt for this. I am of the opinion that Kulula should cover this and claim from ACSA as they operate the airports.
This being the case, I will never book flights with Kulula again, even though they partners with Discovery Vitality who I am a member with. In addition, I will inform anyone who intends to use them!!
