Cancelled flight no comeback

Mango cancelled our early flight on Sunday via sms at 20h45 the night before. i called the call centre who said we should come in at same time and would be put on another flight at same time. once there at the crack of dawn told there were no more flights. If they had said no flights would have cancelled the night before and postponed. so had to fly at 9h30am but had organised appointments to view horses and ran out of time half way through my appointments to fly back on the last flight which is why is specifically booked that flight. now have to fly back to finish business and basically pay double. emailed my complaint on Monday but to date have no correspondence back from them. find the communication and service from Mango very disappointing as i am now out of pocket and have had no re compensation or communication from them.
Huge inconvenience and expense.
