DIFFICULTIES WITH CANCELLATION OF CONTRACT

I took out a contract with Flexi Club on Sunday 20/01/2013 in Port Elizabeth but I told them not to process it until I call them to give them a go ahead. I then decided to read up on the club and I did not like what I was reading so I decided to cancel the contract the following day but when I called I was told that the agent who helped me will be in the folowing day. I called on 22/01/2013 and I was told to write a letter and I did as they asked. Now I am having difficulties getting a confirmation of the cancellation, I called yesterday and they told me that they will call me back which they never did. I called again today 24/01/2013 in the morning and they asked for my number and I was informed that they will call me back shortly but they never did (I called around 9:00am and it is 15:12 and I am still waiting for the call. I decided to call the agent that I dealt with but I was told she is busy with a client &will get back to me (the time was 13:23 and now it is 15:14 and she still has not gotten back to me). I tried calling her on her mobile but she is not answering and I have left her another message. What is so difficult about cancelling a contract that is not yet effective??
