Poor Service after damaging luggage

SAA staff that handle the luggage have clearly got no respect for their position at SAA and they have even less respect for paying customers luggage!

I flew on SAA from CT to EL on the 9th August. On arriving, I discovered my bag was missing. The SAA Official Rogers, managed to locate the bag after 4 hours and ensured that it would be delivered to my house the following day.

As promised the bag was delivered however, the straps were broken off the bag. I called Rogers who politely informed me that I must just return to the airport with the bag and it will sent for repairs in Durban! I flatly refused to do the 40km return trip to the airport! SAA were responsible for the damage and as such they should collect and deliver it repaired. The damage was as a direct result of SAA officials incompetence and negligence that the bag was damaged, why should I as a paying client be further inconvenienced! I continue to refuse to take the bag back to SAA, I feel strongly it is SAA responsibility to collect the bag and return within a reasonable timeframe!
