Mango Airlines
LUGGAGE DAMAGED

Traveling & Tourism

On return flight JE 165 from OR Tambo to Cape Town on 09 March 2013, my luggage zip which was locked with a small lock was damaged. I was one of 5 passagers whose luggage was the last to be off loaded at Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) last night and which luggage was forcibly opened. I reported the damage to the Mango Baggage Officer, who advised that I had to return my damaged luggage back to CITA to have it repaired.

I further reported the incident to 3 police offices in the baggage collection area, who advised it probably happened in Johannesburg. Again reporting to the Information Desk at CTIA I was told to contact the airline as they employed the persons handling the luggage.

Question - I now have to find the time to get back to CTIA to drop off my damaged luggage, pay for parking, how do I get to the Mango Baggage Office as I am not a returning passenger. Why can I just not go to the nearest Barksole outlet to drop off my bag for repairs? Mango sort out the people who deal with baggage handling, this is extremely frustrating and must be costly for you. So much for saving on air travel with all these "extras"!!!
