GTASA - Global Travel Alliance SA
Targeting of Pensioners

Traveling & Tourism

Similar to the complaint from Kroonstad, my mother was pulled into this scheme. Considering that she is a pensioner (71 yrs), I find the way that GTASA is targeting pensioners and pressuring them into signing contracts unacceptable. After thinking it through (later), she realized that she cannot afford the monthly payments. After emailing GTASA, she is apparently liable for a 50% cancellation fee.

A deposit was paid of close to R8k. An additional amount of R2646 is now required over and above that. They then had the cheek to deduct R800 off her account, and then stated that the new amount owed for cancellation is now R2519.77.

As I don't expect any proper assistance from them, please consider this a warning to all people out there, and warn any and all of your family members who are pensioners.

P.S. My aunt (pensioners) in Fairland, JHB, reported a similar situation at a meeting she was invited to.
