Check-in Issues and bad food

Recently flew with Qatar to Bangkok. They did not honour our pre-booked seats which meant my family was scattered all over the plane. On the return journey, the on-line check in system could not handle more than 1 person on a booking - again we were scattered. They definitely have IT issues.
Food is just generally inedible - both out and in bound. The worst food I have ever had on an international flight.
