Charging us extra to carry a child's car seat

Mango Airlines wished to charge us excess baggage charges when we checked in our child's car seat for a flight from PE to Johannesburg on Thursday 20 June 2013. No other airline charges for carrying a car seat. When we asked to speak to the manager she was unhelpful and unresponsive with lots of shoulder shrugging. The attitude of the Mango staff was infuriating. Eventually they said they would not charge us if we carried the car seat to the plane ourselves! My husband was travelling alone with our son and had two other hand luggage items to carry, in addition to our son and now he needed to carry a car chair through security checks and to the plane. Luckily he is a man but if it was me I would not have been able to manage to carry a car chair to the plane. This is unacceptable service from Mango. They are trying to cut their costs at the cost of the passenger and need to be brought to account.
