The reasons consumers register with loyalty programmes is to receive an additional benefit for service preference for loyalty towards the brand. These are my main reasons for joining the SAA Voyager Programme. SAA forms part of the Star Alliance group, therefore my preference of air carrier will always be from the pool to increase my loyalty status and awards. With this said it has been a nightmare to retrieve or claim unregistered miles. Over the past year I have sent via registsitered post (as per the instruction) my orginal boarding passed of 4 historic trips, only to be advised months later that the respective airlines were unable to confirm my "presence" on the flights and my name doesnt appear on the flight register. I mean really? for what reason then didI submit the orginal boarding passes, as evidence for what? When I disputed the response I was told that I needed to submit a complaint to Voyager and someone will follow up. In March 2013 I sent my complaint as well as new outstanding boarding passes for a trip done in February via registered mail. 2 weeks ago I followed up about complaint and miles still not registered. Was pomised follow up and feedback-todate no reply
