My son was left stranded at a dangerous bus stop in Worcester as Translux bus staff refused to allow him on the bus from Worcester to Mossel Bay on 17/05/2013. Their reason was that the ticket was cancelled due to non payment. I booked the ticket telephonically on 14/05/2013 and immediately paid for it electronically. On their request I faxed the proof of payment to the number supplied.
My husband phoned the number on Translux's website, and after a while the respondent found the payment confirmation fax. We were by now beside ourselves with worry as my son informed us that a woman was robbed right in front of him and he was fearing for his safety. We requested via Translux contact centre for the bus to be turned around as we paid for this service but they arrogantly refused.
Our son is a student at the Worcester campus of Stellenbosch University, a lecturer dropped him off and left for a venue a few kilometres outside of Worcester. He was kind enough to go all the way back to assist us in getting our son to safety. We feel that this is breach of contract on Translux' part as we paid for a service and they did not deliver which left us with extra expenses and much trauma.
