On 22 March a lady named Jenny phoned me from what she om (I have subsequently discovered it is actually a rewards company that acts on behalf of Vodacom) and told me that since I had been such a loyal Vodacom customer they were offering me the chance to change my Top Up 135 to a new standard package that includes 75 free minutes, 75mb of data and 150 free smses for only 50c more than I was currently paying - R199 per month. I accepted, got my bill on 9 April only to discover she had put me onto the wrong package and my bill was nor R463!!! I immediately phoned Vodacom (on 9 April) as I CANNOT afford a phone of R463 AT ALL. I have since phoned Vodacom 7 times and e-mailed twice yet no one is helping me. The debit order for R463 comes off tomorrow and I will be financially for the month now.
I used to be very happy with Vodacom, but since I have had this problem it seems no-one cares. I am literally at my wits end as Vodacom has now wasted so much of my time and NOTHING has been done. I was in tears this morning as I cannot afford to spend that extra R263 a month on my cell phone. Next step is a complaint lodged with ICASA I guess
