Non-activation of sim card

Last week (10th of April) Vodacom sent me a new cell phone for a new contract. The phone arrived without a sim card. I called the help line. They told me to purchase my own and to send them the details and that they would refund me the R100.00 and they would activate the sim. Sounds simple enough? Sunday 13th, about 20 calls to the centre later and about 5 promises to activate the sim card later, still no luck. My gripe - vodacom has wasted my time and my money. I have 3 additional contracts with vodacom. Are they really willing to lose me as a customer after 10 years? Let's see if you are serious about customer service vodacom.
