Still waiting for my contract to be approved!

So I called MTN Direct on Tuesday and gave them all the details etc. to take out a new contract with them. First the operator says everything is fine I will get an sms from MTN to say if it has been approved or not. I get a sms about 15:00pm that I should fax them my recent payslip, bank statements etc. I do that at 17:00pm. Now I wait... Wednesday passed and no response yet. So I call the MTN Direct number again on Thursday morning asking for feedback. Operator says that it shows pending on her system but she will find out for me and let someone phone me back. That was 08:30am this morning, it is now 13:20pm. Still nothing. Why does the approval take so long? I really hope this is not an indication of the type of service I am going to get when or rather if my contract is ever approved. I would really appreciate some feedback.
