Vodacom
Vodacom billing me for handset without my consent

Telecommunications

I renewed my contract with Vodacom in May 2012. I was told that the handset would be included in my new contract and it stated in my quote and upgrade documents that the Amortised Value (Handset Value) will be R0.00. I signed the documents 17 May 2012 in store. When I received my first bill I noticed that I was charged R225 for my handset! I requested a copy of my upgrade documents and saw that a new upgrade document was created on 19 June 2012, stating R225 Amortised Value, but these documents were NEVER signed by me and I was NEVER aware of this change! I did query this with the Cresta branch but after NUMEROUS phone calls, messages and emails I am still getting charge R225 EVERY MONTH for a handset which I was told will be FREE with the contract I signed for that day. I will NOT renew my Vodacom contract again and will make sure that I spread the word about how, WITHOUT MY SIGNATURE AND APPROVAL, my 'so called FREE' phone is actually costing me R5400 over 24 months!
